EDGE TRAINING

Staff of PWD had a day training on the 24th of January at the World Bank IFC office, Ridge Accra, on the EDGE Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiency program. EDGE, an innovation of International Finance Corporation (IFC), is a green building certification system focused on making new residential and commercial buildings more resource-efficient. EDGE is comprised of a web-based software application, a universal standard and a certification system. The aim of the training was   to build capacity and knowledge of officers  on the concept of green buildings and trends, as well as exposure and practical training on available tools that will make them employable and also help them contribute to reducing environmental carbon footprint
The training equipped  staff with the knowledge of green efficiency measures and choices that will ensure optimum operational cost saving within buildings with practical focus on energy choice water management ,waste recycle and separation.
The training was facilitated using the edge app which also provided trainees with  digital skills.
