Public Works Department Joins National Sanitation Day Exercise
The Public Works Department (PWD) successfully participated in the Government of Ghana’s National Sanitation Day Exercise on Friday, 10th July 2026, reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability, public health, and national development.
In response to the directive from the Office of the President and the Office of the Head of Civil Service, staff of the Department actively took part in coordinated clean-up activities across designated PWD operational locations.
The exercise was carried out simultaneously at the PWD Head Office, State House, Accra International Conference Centre, Jubilee House, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where staff worked together to improve the cleanliness of their workplaces and surrounding environments.
The Department’s participation underscores its commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy working environment while supporting the Government’s efforts to promote environmental responsibility and encourage active civic participation.
Management of the Public Works Department commends all staff who participated in the exercise and encourages the continued practice of good sanitation habits beyond the designated National Sanitation Days.
The Department remains committed to contributing to cleaner public institutions and a healthier Ghana.
