PWD Promotes Staff Wellness with Breast Cancer Awareness Talk

The Public Works Department (PWD) marked Pink October with a Breast Cancer Awareness Talk to promote staff health and wellness.

As part of the global Pink October campaign, the Management of the Public Works Department (PWD), in collaboration with the Gender Desk Team, organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Talk at PWD Prestige on Thursday, 16th October 2025.

The session formed part of PWD’s ongoing commitment to staff health, wellness, and preventive care. It aimed to sensitize employees on the importance of early detection, regular screening, and healthy lifestyle choices in reducing breast cancer risks.

The talk was facilitated by a medical professional from the Trust Hospital, who led participants through an insightful and inspiring discussion on breast cancer causes, symptoms, treatment options, and the power of awareness. Staff were encouraged to prioritize routine medical checkups and support advocacy efforts for women’s health.

The interactive session also provided a platform for participants to ask questions and share personal reflections, reinforcing the Department’s goal of fostering a supportive and health-conscious work environment.

The Management of PWD reaffirmed its dedication to promoting the well-being of all staff, emphasizing that a healthy workforce is vital for improved productivity and service delivery.
